Tale of Branches

The Story of Branches is a rug handcrafted in Samugheo by Mariantonia Urru using the traditional Sardinian Pibiones technique. The image is a poetic abstraction of branches and small red berries, translated into a textured weave where raised wool shapes the landscape with rhythm and breath. The Pibiones technique forms small knots in delicate relief, giving the textile a three-dimensional and tactile presence, bringing nature into an essential and contemporary form. More than a rug, it is a floor artwork: a quiet narrative that carries the memory of ancient gestures and the vitality of living tradition
