illustration, art and design

Ethereal bodies. Timeless, beyond space. Impossible loves. Imaginative poetry. Diaphanous signs and aching dreams. A rarefied and visionary world, a spiral dense with passion. Anna is there, in her works, present where the future becomes the past in a disturbing visual whirlwind.

Anna’s creations seem to float in the sky without weight. They are made of poetry, graphic elegance, symbolism, imagination and a great deal of psychology. They flutter before you like butterflies with wonderful colors and, like butterflies, they disappear—yet they leave behind an undefined magical sensation in your eyes and in your soul. You don’t know what it is, but it continues to pulse within you.

When Anna drops by to see me, it’s as if a cloud of color glides between my desk and my computer. And with a gust of wind it redraws the room where I work. For a moment I dream of entering one of her drawings—perhaps to live there.

Knowing and working with Anna has been a real privilege. I think her creativity is contagious: looking at her paintings opens your mind and lets you enter a fantastic world that will stay inside you forever. Thank you, Anna.

Nina Pallina floats, she doesn’t fly. She is pure, and therefore naked. She travels lightly through skies of colored clouds. She never falls and never bounces. She runs fast against the wind. And yet her hair always gets there first…

Anna is her images, and her images are Anna. And Anna is Nina Pallina—I am convinced of it. Few artists manage to overlap their identity with their works the way she does, almost to the point of living—together—in a parallel world. I love working with Anna because when she delivers her illustrations, I like to imagine that they arrive directly from that world…

How many heads among the clouds / Among the white clouds / How many colors / How many are there? / How many cloud-flyers? / And the colorful ones? / The drawn ones? / And the drawable ones? / How many drawable ones will there be? / So many that you lose your head / Lose it among the clouds / Among the white clouds / The white clouds full of colors

Once I entered one of Anna’s dreams: I was walking on a sea of clouds, from icy trees leaves fell and turned into butterflies, and in the purple sky elephants whispered a song. The air smelled of rain, of sea, and of comfort.
